This display was created in the lobby of the firm I was working with at the time to celebrate the spring season. The flowers are a combination of split tennis balls and background graphics so that it appears that the silhouetted figure with the racquet on the right is lobbing them across the void and joining the 2 sides. All of the live flowers were supported using the canister that the tennis balls were purchased in as a sort of vase. This was probably my favorite display of all the many that I completed for this company....Read More
This display was created in the lobby of the firm I was working with at the time for the summer season. This display was created in the lobby of the firm I was working with at the time to celebrate winning Gatorade as a client. The spoof of the photoshoot was based off of the revolving athletes flash feature on the Gatorade website. My spoof of this displayed all of the team members who had a part in the spec work and presentation that ultimately won the work....Read More
This display was created for Earth Day in the lobby of the firm I was working with at the time. It featured all recycled packing and foamcore material and tempera paints as to be an actually green display. The remaining budget for the project I spent on plants and trees. These plants I took care of and watered for a few days so that everyone could enjoy them then at the end of that period staff members could take home and plant any flora that they had tagged earlier in the week using the tiny hang tags that I had arranged on an integrated grid....Read More

Charleys Philly Cheese Steaks is, strangely enough not at all a Philly based restaurant chain but rather an Ohio company. Over the years of franchise existence the brand had lots a clear voice and was in danger of becoming a blur among the offerings of other such sandwich purveyors. The company has a strong community commitment and an amusing back story. The challenge was to draw these forward while maintaining the strong, masculine and bold aesthetic of the existing brand standards....Read More

Custom Ladies is a calendar series featuring models custom designed shoes by a Houston artist. I did these logo studies for the project which ended up taking a different direction but I had a lot of fun with these sketches so I thought I'd post them anyway. This was a project from few years back. I just happened across the files again so I thought I'd showcase them here. It was a challenge to reduce the amount of information down while still telling the entire global story of how this mining practice effects living conditions and geopolitical pressures. The two boards are set up to show the macro and then the micro systems at work within the web of events and causes....Read More

I worked with a large team of environments designers on this project. Basically AMC sought to drive higher sales in its concession area by eliminating bottlenecks in flow and offering an elevated selection of food and drink products. I designed the menu boards, dimensional type system and wall graphics. All menu boards were based on a set of rounded boxes in 3 sizes for modularity. These boxes featured a metal face and all attached graphics were magnetic. This allowed for prices and offering to change as often as needed by simply printing a new magnet strip....Read More

Mortgage Advantage Pro is a software offering mortgage calculation for mortgage originators. The challenge here was to create an attractive electronic report document that could be auto populated by the program on output and uploaded to the service Issuu.com as well as printed or emailed. An identity was also developed for this project and an audit of the current web site was performed to produce recommendations on new graphic layouts....Read More
In 1997 I had a chance to take a trip to Honduras as part of a project for the Ohio State university that involved creating a brand for a new offering of “service learning” travel abroad courses. I worked with the department to define brand standards and served as photo-documentarian of the trip while in-country. See the photos in this post.

In 1997 I had a chance to take a trip to Honduras as part of a project for the Ohio State University that involved creating a brand for a new offering of "service learning" travel abroad courses. I worked with the department to define brand standards and served as photo-documentarian of the trip while in-country. See the identity work in this post. These photos served as content for marketing and fund raising materials for the departments future trips to the region. The bulk of the trip was spent working with an orphanage on a hillside about 2 hours south of the capital with a few trips into the tiny communities scattered along the valley below....Read More
