Project:
The Limited Brands owned C.O. Bigelow franchise sought a new partner for the window design of the flagship store in Ohio’s Easton shopping center. Two product lines for fall/winter season were launching, Lemon and Remedy. I was part of a team tasked with ideation realization of these concepts. Initial intent can be seen in the following renderings and photo-morphs. Two concepts were presented for each product promotion.

Scott’s Bird Seed

Project Scope:

Scott’s Miracle Grow wanted to boost the presence of their winter bird feeding products (specifically suet cakes). These products are always merchandised in aisle with a variety of other brands so any branded added educational tools that could provide selection prompts were highly effective. This poster plus merchandising plan provided maximum impact for the Scott’s product.

WD Lobby Display 2007

This display was created for the New Years season 2007 in the Lobby of the firm I was working with at the time. It featured sketches from the previous years work, pinned up on a backing board then a red field to which a grid of trace paper rolls was attached, spelling out the numerals “2007″.

WD Lobby Display “I am WD”

WD was creating an initiative to promote the work/life balance of their corporate culture. I created a series of posters to be displayed in one of the main office conference rooms and a display for the lobby which featured two 7′ x 7′ exhibition areas. The lobby display used portraits of all 300+ employees while the posters exhibited the special talents and hobbies of a few employees who had responded to a survey about outside interests. I conducted all of the photo shoots for these layouts and managed the print production through to the final installation.

WD Lobby Spring

This display was created in the lobby of the firm I was working with at the time to celebrate the spring season. The flowers are a combination of split tennis balls and background graphics so that it appears that the silhouetted figure with the racquet on the right is lobbing them across the void and joining the 2 sides. All of the live flowers were supported using the canister that the tennis balls were purchased in as a sort of vase. This was probably my favorite display of all the many that I completed for this company.

WD Lobby Summer

This display was created in the lobby of the firm I was working with at the time for the summer season. Fish bowls with colorful Beta fish swimming in them adorned the shelfs and an empty fishbowl sat in front of a poster instruction employees to drop their business cards in to enter a raffle for the fish at the end of the month.

WD Lobby Gatorade

This display was created in the lobby of the firm I was working with at the time to celebrate winning Gatorade as a client. The spoof of the photoshoot was based off of the revolving athletes flash feature on the Gatorade website. My spoof of this displayed all of the team members who had a part in the spec work and presentation that ultimately won the work.

WD Lobby Earth Day

This display was created for Earth Day in the lobby of the firm I was working with at the time. It featured all recycled packing and foamcore material and tempera paints as to be an actually green display. The remaining budget for the project I spent on plants and trees. These plants I took care of and watered for a few days so that everyone could enjoy them then at the end of that period staff members could take home and plant any flora that they had tagged earlier in the week using the tiny hang tags that I had arranged on an integrated grid.

Hair, Bone & Honey Art Show

Project:
An artist acquaintance approached me about working collaboratively on a jewelry and sculpture show. I contributed concept sketches, design rationale, background context writing, built all display cases and elements, created email blast and print advertising materials, curated the final show selection and set/hung/lit the show. The pieces were all based on elements of bone, hair, wax and honey. They were relics of human and animal existence. The change that time inflicts upon these different elemental materials was alluded to through the use of corrosion, patina and distress.
